Title: Yet another .....
Post by: Andy B on 01 October 2012, 14:54:53
..... of these incidents where it seems the Dad has said 'if I can't have them, you're not either'

I can never ever get my head around how any Dad could do this to their kids  :( :(. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-19787459

I would like to hope that some lessons are learned from these tragic cases but as Tiger_Gonads says how a situation affects people's minds is totally random. It can never justify taking innocent lives and is cowardice in the extreme (giving up and not fighting for rights) but everyone is equipped differently.

If it is the case that a partner is seeking to deny access rights without cause then maybe the counter to that is that they both lose rights until it is sorted - sorry this may not be totally logical thinking - this just makes me feel so sad

Absolutely nothing makes sense when you get in that state  :(

Unfortunately, I know of several divorces as a result of abusive relationships, where the husband considered the wife as an object that belonged to him and the same with the children. They can't / won't connect to the fact they are human beings, with their own lives, personalities, aspirations etc. The children are nothing more than pawns to use to try and give the maximum hurt to their ex-wife. The welfare and mental effects on the children are irrelevant. Sad but true.  :'(

I'm sure the opposite happens as well when women kill their children, but it is much rarer.  :'(

Yup  :(

Kids can end up pawns in situations like this hence why I would advocate what I said earlier in the tread.  :(
Problem is, most people are either too proud or too stubburn to seek help.
I suppose that is one of the shitty decisions that social services get to make.
If they get the chance  :(

Very Tragic indeed, I seem to recall some similar incidents recently..... :( :( :(

The thing is fighting for 'Rights' is a very expensive business, particularly if one parent is particularly awkward.....I think a Solicitor costs around £150 per hour, then there would be Court costs and you can be in Court for hours sitting doing nothing. Far better for both parents to agree and not use the children a pawns in an evil game.. >:( >:(

The worst bit, swmbo and I were talking..........presumably one of the kids was still alive as they saw the other being stabbed to death....... :'( :'( :'( going on what was said on the news............ :(
