I have a 2.2, what do other people get to the gallon?, I only seem to get around 20.5 average normal driving around town.
-
The most i have got from our 2.2 auto estate is 34mpg on a long run the least around town is 15 that was due to roadworks causing delays , normally average 19, tbh the 2.6 V6 manual is better never below 30 on a run, & 19 on town work.
-
Around the mid 20s in the 2.2i Auto on average days but have had it below 10mpg on occasions. my old 2.5 V6 was cheaper to run but that was several years ago when petrol was cheaper... But have found mine slightly cheaper to run since I put 17" Elite alloys on mine granted its slightly slower on acceleration but better mpg as Tesco says "Every Little Help's" ;)

mid 25's around town
-
Blimey, get 27 in London and an average of 37 on run,... 3.0 MV6 Manual.

Manual or auto?
My 2.2 (manual) would average 34mpg over course of a tank when on petrol, mid to high 20's around town.
On LPG I manage to average 27mpg on LPG, my 3.2 V6, also does 27mpg ;D

I get mid 30s around town and high 40s on a run from mine ::)

Should add that LPG gives me an effective 55mpg+
With last tank, think it was near 60mpg, as LPG was below half the cost of petrol. (64p litre rather than 139p)

touching wood....
replacing that filter and re-clamping the breather hoses seems to have solved my fuel consumption problem.... i'm getting a consistent 25mpg around town. cheers to TB and Martin42 for their help. and all the others that chipped in with help! :y

its a 2.2 auto petrol, is there any common thing to do servicing wise to improve it?

Good service, plugs, air filter, fuel filter, throttle body & breather clean. Petrol 4 pots love fresh oil too.

25 around town, 30 on a run with CC or 32/33 if I operate the accelerator myself
-
Omega with LPG - equivalent to 35mpg.
Cavalier diesel on veg oil - equivalent to approx. 100mpg,which will lessen in winter when mixed approx. 50/50 with diesel.

There does seem to be a bit of oil around the throttle body where the air filter hose connects, is there a how to on here for the 2.2?

I tend to get around 19mpg from the 3.0 auto, and 17 from the 3.2 auto. On LPG. Both driven the way a car should be driven.
-
My 2.2 is currently showing 30.4 average, mainly commuting through a combination of stop/start queues and 70mph dual carriageways. On a run, I get about 36mpg.

Done 180 miles today roughly (Sunday Drive to Machynlleth) and it used £55 roughly that's driving in mostly in S mode and not driving slow ;)

£55/£1.40 = 39.29 litres
39.29/4.55 = 8.64 gallons
180/8.64 = 20.83 mpg
Maybe you should have driven a bit slower!

I know but it wasn't a average day to day drive as in (a to b journey) more of a day just for driving for the sake of it "Sunday Day Out Drive"
Here's the Video I made from those 180 miles some short clips put together :)
