Depends what phone del boy, and it should be under call settings as?? Own number display, or something along those lines, if its:
Off- number wont show no matter what
On- number will always show, even if you use 141
Set by network- depending on you!
If iphone then look under Settings-phone-show my caller ID! Above still applies.
Hope that helps matey! :y

And test it by ringing home, then 1471'ing from home phone ;)

Us that aren't tight, have caller display ::) :P

By withholding your number is not actually withheld, its just flaged as do not display at the other end.
So ringing goverment type Call Centres or important Authorities etc, your number will be displayed. Same goes for most International Calls.

Also I have heard thats the same for some taxi companies, saves time on tracing prank calls.

Yep, fairly easy to do with the right box of tricks or a CLI software somewhere in the chain, there are UK Guide Lines on the Legal side for people wanting to do this, a question of what you are proposing to do with the information vs Peoples Privacy Rights.
Guessing a Taxi Firm getting pranks calls and passing the information over to the Authorities to deal with, would be a good enough reason.
