Title: Water in spark plugs?
Post by: SalahJ on 08 October 2012, 14:13:06
My miggy (2001 2.6 Elite Auto with 104K miles) vibrates a lot on cold start. It seems really rough in lower rev range, the upper rev range (4k+) seems normal. If I leave it running for 10-15 minutes, it drives OK after it gets warmed up. However, after driving it for a while it starts to vibrate a lot when idle.

It doesn't loose any coolant and a mate suspects water in plug hole. What you guys reckon?

Update: Forgot to add that engine management light comes on intermittently and the codes are 0300 and 0305 which I reckon is misfire in cylinder 5.

Water or oil, or knackered coil PAC. 1,3,5 is drivers side bank, 5 is nearest bulk head.

If oil replace cam cover seals with genuine only. Clean breathers.

If water, leaking scuttle. Either wind screen seal has come adrift of its leaking in through the wiper spindle hole on that side. But a hose pipe will reveal all. :)

So my mate was pretty much right. I'm gonna check it and post the update.
