Title: Purpose of the 'B' bolt
Post by: jonny2112 on 14 October 2012, 23:24:28
Afaik it secures the transfer pipe, hoist and in some cases dipstick. Anything else?
Hypothetically, if it was missing, would it do any harm ( other than to the above items )?

Transfer pipe wouldn't be secure - IMHO

Nothing to stop the transfer pipe popping out of the stat housing.Particularily as there must be a certain amount of water pressure pushing through it when the engine is running. ;)
