Following on from buying 22 James Bond DVD's....
Not wanting to trash them....as i tend to do with DVD's, i thought i would store them as an ISO on my desktop.
Question is now......
If i mount the ISO's using a virtual DVD drive......can i stream them over my network to my TV?
and will WMC do this?
Had little look around as it seems Win7 is dnla server and my tv is dnla certified.......and ive been able to play mpg files on the tv from the pc........but not sure how i go about getting the tv to see a networked dvd.....if at all i can....
Any idea peeps

My telly is too old to support DLNA, so sorry, can't test :-[

IIRC, the only locations that are available for WMP to share from are Documents, Music, Picture, and Videos.
Even if you could share the (virtual) DVD drive out, I doubt your TV will recognise the ISO format which means that your computer will end up thrashing the CPU & HDD while it converts the DVD to a format your TV does understand so you can view it.
Storing your DVD's in ISO format is also going to require lots of disc space so I'd suggest converting to a lossy format (eg, DivX) if you want to start building a movie collection.

All I can do is to tell you what I use, and its brilliant!! :)
The Western Digital WDTV Live box. Coupled with a USB/Esat/1360 external storage device, I use a 2Tb WD MyBook external disk, it plays all types of media by utilising a library feature.
Cos it works so well I have no intention of changing it any time soon.
Have a looky on Ebay and you should find them.

LOL I bought one of these a few days ago, as WMC is pants at VOB and ISO files.
I've just spent the last couple of days playing with it and have come up with a setup like yours. ie usb hard drive plugged into it and mapped to a pc, so that can drag and drop iso files :y
