Do Admiral cover lpg converted/modified cars :-\
Potentially need to insure two cars, both modified, one on lpg as well. I know there are a few of you who have similar insurance needs, so pointers/recomendations welcome :y
Ta muchly :y

Yes, as long as it's on the register :y Don't mention DIY though ::)
So do many other insurers so don't be narrow minded when looking ;)
-
I don't know about Admiral - but Aviva don't seem to care two hoots about mine being LPG... when asked where I should sent any paperwork etc around it - they simply said they didn't required any!
-
Tescos would have been my first choice, based on previous excperience, but they list modifications on their check list, shall rummage around :y
That sums up my experience of Aviva in general :-\
-
Just hope you don't have to claim James ::)
-
Im also with Aviva and they didnt ask me to send any paperwork.Car shows as duel fuel on logbook (iirc) but isnt on the ripoff register.
Hastings direct wont insure LPG cars under any circumstances.
Ive also found Aviva the cheapest for the last two years apart from that one which appears at the top of every comparison site, which everyone says is the worst excuse for an insurance company anywhere.Cant remember the name at the moment.Direct something or other ? :-\
-
Have you tried Flux Direct ??? As mine is both LPG and bodykit modified the mainstream insurers seem to think I'm a 22 yearold boy racer .. Flux have been the best for the past 3 years.
HTH :)

I suspect questions will be asked if/when a claim is made...

Both mine are with Admiral, and listed as modified. I think the first year, they asked if it was fitted by a certified engineer. I'm sure old man Wood has an engineering degree, so I said yes ::).
Subsequent years, they asked if on register, which both mine are.

The online application form has a section for modifications to be delared.LPG conversion is one of the option boxes to tick,so they are aware of the fact it runs on LPG.

You not sure he meant that he's certified? ::) ::) ::)

Not yet.. They're a bit short of the special white coats this week, so they let me off. :y

Indeed. I know that under their previous name they refused to pay out on a Fire claim (even though there was some very minor, underbody damage) because the fire brigade were called and extinguished the fire before it did any serious damage >:( >:(
For this reason I simply refuse to use them for anything, even if they are the cheapest ::)

I was with Elephant (same outfit as Admiral IIRC) and just ticked the LPG box. No further questions asked.
Then again, they hiked the premium after the first year so I went elsewhere. ::)

I did the same with Admiral one year, next year they rang up asking to see certificate. I had to explain that certificates don't exist and it's an online registration, just like I had to at the local DVLA office ::)

Can't really fault them based on my experience in Feb. But thats different, obviously

He was referring to Aviva

Admiral have just told me that my current car does not exist, ie the registration number does not produce the car model details on their database, and therefore they cannot insure it :(
Was actually trying to get a quote for the new one, but they couldn't seem to grasp that concept, so gave them the reg of the current one, as that was going to be on the same policy and is exactly the same model >:(
King retards >:(
Any other suggestions... :-\
