Ok, the brakes work fine - but there is an "issue" with them ..........
If you reverse, then the next time you brake moving forward they make a loud click. Think of doing a 3 point turn followed by a stop soon afterwards.
A pal of mine reckons it's worn caliber carriers. Any ideas? The car has done less then 90k. It's been in ownership since 74k and done this since I had it - despite having new (GM) discs and pads fitted.
It's not getting any worse - but would be nice to get to the bottom of.
Thanks - Rob

Yeah, could be the pads have some vertical movement in the carrier, or that the metal spring/clip bits between carrier and pad are missing.

I had this problem when I broke the anti rattle spring.

I'll have to get it checked out - thanks ............

Almost certainly an issue with the anti rattle springs on the pads.
One, or more, of the springs is not doing its job.
Reason could be poor fitting, it's missing, or part of it has broken off.
The clicking is the pad moving, or shunting back and forth in the caliper.
