In the Mail this morning is a report about a car crashing into the river Avon which includes the line " At least six police officers dived in to try and rescue the passengers" :y :y :y
Just to redress the balance a bit they don't all Taser a blind pensioner or look on claiming Elf & Safety prevents them from getting there feet wet.
Just doing their job ..... :) :y :y :y
-
That won't appease the anti establishment vigilante here....
-
Nobody on here has ever said that ALL coppers are tossers.
Just the dickheads like those who shoot a blind bloke with a white stick in the back then when the barb fell out, he was jumped on ;)
Regardless of whats been going on, they should be able to massage a few braincells together and work out what was really happening.
If not, then they should hand in there warrant card and leave the force because its idiots like them who give the decient coppers a bad name.
Coppers have a shitty job to do without things like that happening.
What happened to those 2 coppers a few weeks ago pissed everybody off and yes people tend to vent there splean on the internet and it should be taken as just that ;)
As for 6 of them jumping in, they will probably get suspended now (on full pay) for a breach of heath and safety rules ::)
And just for the record, even my missus can tell the difference between a blind mans white stick and a oppsing samuri sword ::)
-
I reckon they were chasing it, only way you'd get six coppers in one place, at the same time. :)

That is probably nearer the truth :y

OK, they were told there was a man wandering around with an oriental sword.
They find a bloke, in the dark, with what could be mistaken for a sword. Rules say they have to warn the suspect. Who knows whats suspect did? Wave this stick? We weren't there. Nor were media.
Now what would the media be doing if the suspect was the madman, and the Police hadn't tasered, and someone got killed?
Its only spruced up by our media, as they are aware we are bored of the Jimmy stories.

Unlike the drunken Irish man who waved a carrier bag at plod before he took the 7.62, the blind man (according to the media) didn't show any sign whatsoever of being aggressive towards the old bill and continued to walk away without even being aware he was the one being spoken to.
Now I'm certainly no legal expert, but my dealings with plod have taught me that they can't even think about pulling the trigger unless something (plastic bag or otherwise) is aimed at them.......and in this case that did not happen (according to current media).

Yeah, we have to assume that the correct rules were followed, as I'm more inclined to believe that than I am of believe any of the BS printed/broadcast by the media in a slow news week.

Lancashire police have not disputed in any way the account given by the blind man. They have simply offered a profuse apology for the suffering they have caused him. ::)

The Police (not the media) have now issued an apology saying that they apprehended the wrong man completely. They eventually arrested a 27 year old man with a sword.
Easy mistake to make, young man with samurai sword, old man with white stick....yep, I can see how it happened. I believe the officer concerned has now been given his own white stick.............OK, so I made that last bit up. ::)
In fairness, they're damned if they do and damned if they don't.

With the upcoming elections, the old bill are taking one for the team, so as not to upset the media :-X
But who knows. I suspect the poor plod did what he thought was the right thing at the time, rather than think what a blast it would be to zap a blind man. I base my suspicions on the fact there are no suspensions (AFAIK)

I agree with that 100% but that does not make the person who pulled that taser from its holster anymore of a oppsing idiot.
Now the last time I carried a firearm, the rules of engagement clearly stated that the target must be a clear and present danger the either to yourself (person with the firearm) or the general public you are tasked to protect.
The target must be clearly identified and a clear verbal warning must be given.
Now (if i'm honest) I haven't got a clue what the green card says nowdays but I can't believe it has changed that much.
Also, maybe you have not been on the end of a hasp for nothing more then having a few too many beers and getting a little bit lairy at a football match.
Don't think for one minute that i'm some sort of police bashing dickhead because i'm far from it but don't think that just because some bloke has the queens warrant card in his top pocket that he is a model citizen and a bastion of the truth because that couldn't be further from the truth.
I suggest you get yourself out into the inner citys of this country on a saturday night and see some of these dickheads in action.

The complete opposite is true actually. They are angry beyond words about the upcoming elections and havent made any attempt to disguise the fact. They even sent (the utterly moronic) Ian Blair to TV studios yesterday to advise people not to vote,in order to try to strangle the whole prcoess before its even born. ::)
Theres a cosy little cartel which runs policing in the U.K. these days and this is an attempt to break it up.Those on that particular carriage of the gravy train are not at all happy, and are using dirty desperate tricks to try to undermine it.
I would like to know who was taking what for the team when Jean Charles de Menezes was executed in cold blood on a tube train full of commuters.
He was held down by 6 (iirc) officers, while another pumped 11 (iirc) bullets into his head at intervals of approx. three seconds.
Immediately afterwards there was a statement issued which hardly contained a word which wasnt bare faced lies.
He wasnt challenged,he didnt run,he didnt leap barriers,he wasnt wearing a thick puffer jacket in warm weather, he did nothing suspicious at all. He actually went to the officers when they boarded the train and asked them what the problem was.
Apparently the cctv in the staion wasnt working, which was a shame.
They cocked up badly, then lied through their teeth to cover up what they had done.It smacked of the Stazi to me,and if the changes afoot can do anything to break up that type of culture, then bring it on imo.

I'd disagree. Yup, they ain't happy. But like politicians every 4 (or 5 nowadays) years, are currently having to suck up to media.
-

Cartels in this $hithole are not only running policing
-
You obviously didnt watch Ian Blair yesterday then.H e wasnt sucking up to the media,he was trying to frighten people into boycotting the elections, which imo is a disgrace for someone in his position.
He was in charge of many a cover up at the Met and should have been stripped of his pension imo.He was also the most overtly left wing senior policeman the country has ever seen, yet was waxing lyrical yesterday about how this process is designed to politicise the police.
Hopefully, this is a sign that the lefties who hijacked the upper echelons of the police are under serious threat. :)

Oh read between the lines...
Actually, I give up. The Daily Mail is fact.
-
I think it is you who is failing to read between the lines tbh.I am a great supporter of law & order, and good policing and have seen it become watered down greatly in recent years. The problems need to be solved, and it will be painful, and will only happen from the top down.
Nothing I said has come from the Daily Mail or any other newspaper. The reference to Blair was from his own words on SKY news on Sunday. ::)
