What did you hit? How fast? (without incriminating yourself obviously!)

Bad luck mate, but could have been worse.

Far better to re-use parts that can be re-used don't you think? Front bumper clips spring to mind.  ::)

As for being a Vulture, I wouldn't expect to peck at something and have it for free, far from it. Let's be honest though, if the car is fully comp insured it will be cubed long before anyone / any salvage yard could get to sell the parts on.

the front bumper is coming straight off and will be for sale soon, the rest of the car is off to somewhere in eastern europe if the scrap yard bloke is to be believed

Buy it back for peanuts and fix it :y

No cheap way of fixing imo that unless your best friend works in the body repair trade.

About a weeks labour, but the salvage should be low :-\

Could spend a grand on summat else instead, but several other threads about that ::)

I would be thinking of buying it back strip and sell the parts or even better.... Fix it!
The insurance will look at it and say it's beyond economical repair but, what is she worth to you? Can you afford to fix her up? Just remember it might be worth getting a shop to take a look at it and give you a quote, if you do the strip it before the body shop gets it, that will save on costs...
It's your choice but if it was me.....
Glad you're ok though....

If its high spec, I'd be inclined to break it, and get some money back.

Boot lid and bumper bolt on so no issue there really, but the rear wing, that will never be the same obviously, but coud be made road worthy. ...with a big hammer. Or cut out a good wing and Weald it in to replace the battered bit. But your talking cash then. :(

Insurer doesnt necessarily need to know, or buy back the write off as said. You'll get the wreck and a cheque to the value of the car, less the scrap value.

I believe Robsy replaced a rear wing on an Estate. Guessing the saloon is a bit less involved.

Sorry to see this though Kai. Best of luck with it, what ever you do.

Changing the rear quarter panel is straight forward enough :y Rob went overboard because he cut the whole rear wing out, inner and outer ::) just undo the spot welds and pull the outer off, straighten the inner, boot floor/rear panel can be assessed with the bumper off. Replace bootlid then straighten inner wing and go from there... simples :y
