You know my old Grandad used to say don't do anything for anyone, because one day they'll throw it all back in your face. Today I've just realised that's possibly the only words of truth anyone has ever said to me. They may well be the best words anyone could've come up with!

Best advice I heard from mine was 'Never judge anyone until you have lived their life'. True today as it was then.........
Pity that today we tend to judge without proof or simply because we believe ourselves to be better than him/her/them!

When I first started work a hulking great labourer had a few words of wisdom for me. Firstly "it don't matter how big they are, they all go down with putlug round there ear" (putlug, putlog was a short scaffold bar approx 1200mm long)
Second was "believe nothing of what you are told and only half of what you see" This has served me for many years, especially with people.
This chap had many sayings, he was dumb as an ox and and as big as 10 oxen, Yet made plenty of money. Not the type to argue with, but in reality a really nice bloke I shared many a pint with. Still see him occasionally.

It seems no matter what you do for people, nothing is ever good enough, no matter how much work, time & effort you spend putting in, nothing gives you a return. Honestly today has been a thoroughly sh*t day. Makes you sit there & think, and wonder why do you bother? Because if you wasn't there tomorrow, they probably wouldn't give a toss anyway.
