Title: Another EBay scam
Post by: Nickbat on 25 October 2012, 10:11:56
One of the chaps working in my house told me that the car he bought legitimately on eBay a few weeks ago turned up again last night...on eBay.

The advert is a direct copy and even includes the phone number of the previous legitimate seller. The scam seller is in Manchester and has no feedback or history (what a surprise - not).

The vehicle is a Land Rover Discovery 3.  It already has three bids.  ::)

eBay have been informed, but the ad is still there.

thing is as he lost money??..because if he paid for something without having/seeing the keys/car then he is asking for trouble..if not then its just a matter of seller changing his mind is it not??... :y

No, the chap here bought the car legitimately in Stevenage. Has the vehicle, log-book and legal title. Everything pukka. :y

We reckon the scam seller in Manchester will demand a deposit from the winning bidder and then do a runner...since he doesn't actually have the car to sell.

He's already phoned the Manchester Police, but they told him to get in touch with eBay (since only eBay know the identity of the scammer).

Now showing "This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available."

It never was.  >:(
