Thanks, so I would need both hands as spares, plus a cam and crank sensor as I understand on the V6 these will bring the car to a stop, where as on a 4 pot the car can keep running, my first winter with a V6..... ::) ::)

Keep a crank sensor in the boot. Sop on the v engines.

Coil pacs are handed.

Shop around for genuine Bosch. Google the best price and then ring the factors locally.
See if they'll beet the price.

Dealers want 120 a side, a local factors down here will do both for £140 ish. :y

At 2 in the morning when your car has broken down in the piddling rain, do you want an unknown second hand crank sensor in the boot. Or ............ if Mrs Vamps breaks down at two in the morning in the piddling rain, do you want the uncertainty of a second hand CSS in the boot! Well! Do ya?  ::) ::) ;)

What good is a new crank sensor in the boot it needs to be fitted to the car

Cant see anybody fitting the sensor in the wind and the rain.

If you reroute the sensor its a 10 minute job to fit a new one!  ;)

Ask TB - his went in France with no spare readily available.

When yours goes somewhere remote you'll wish you carried a spare in your boot mate  ::) ::)

Every v engined omega will need a crank sensor in its life almost cirtainly. So why wait until its failed before buying one...? Have it there on hand ready to fit the second it plays up, and carry on your journey. Or get the AA man out to fit, whatever.

Exactly. A few years back we were off for the week end & the crank sensor played up. I phoned for recovery and presented the driver with the fault code & a sensor ...... he was gobsmacked ' no one has ever done that before' he said  ;D. He fitted the new OEM sensor & off we went (with tin tent on tow  ::))
