True, But it was only a bit of fun, I didn't see the need to use another method at the time even though I had a feeling you'd say  (nothing good) something about it   ::)   ;D

Nothing wrong with alloy discussions, I've got few differnt facelift sets myself. Maybe I just take a little more pride with my presentation  ???

I've got a set too CG, the original ones from my car (probably same as you).  And you're right about the models they were fitted too, but don't forget the 2.2 Sport as well.  :y

I like the "Sporty" ones on my Elite, although I am not too fused about alloys in general. Got the "f oes", "Boring" ones & "Elegant" ones too.  But an alloy is an alloy  ;D

Forgot about those 18" Irmscher alloys you see on some Omega's I'd have called them "butch"

Can't agree with you there Mark... The style of alloys can make or break the look of a car, Omegas included.  :y

Alloys for many are a subjective thing. For example, I really don't like Twiglets or Cems (sorry guys - I'm sure you don't like mine much either ;D). But I really like the ones on my PFL MV6 (no idea what type they are, came off one of the facelift models). I really liked the wheels the MV6 used to have - the factory fit ones, made of chocolate.

The ones on TBE, hmmm, undecided if I like them or not.

Not for long - show it a pothole at 100yrds, and it buckles and warps at the thought of it.  I had 9 of the little barstewards piled up in my garage, £236.01 each new (when they were still available). Grrrrr

* TWS Black Chrome - wheel stripped, powder coated gloss black, outer surface then faced with Chrome coating that is feathered into the spokes creating a subtle shadowing. I like it. Would probably be lost on a silver one though  :P
I do like the 'classy' ones too though   :y

I currently have the "boring" set on mine but will be changing to the "funky" set. My choice is they they are easy to clean. It came with the "ugly" set when I bought it. The funky set will be further changed when they get painted to my design.

and here they cost more than a uk miggy price..

They would look better on mine  :P ;D

the first set sanded until bare metal.. epoxied.. sanded again and ready for paint..  2 times sanding take more than 6 months ???  never again.. :-X

You must be running out of epoxy by now  ;D A lot of work but worth it  :y

The ease of cleaning is why I always though the PFL Elite ones were quite nice.

I find 17"s are easier to clean than 16"s, possibly because they're shiny shiny shiny, but also because I can get my big fat hands between the spokes ::)

Last I heard it was sat unused on someones drive in Cambridge.I would love to own it.I think its pure class. A slightly ropey looking GLS omega to the untrained eye,but a 370bhp LC under the skin. Brilliant idea.
It was built by Omegatoy,a member on here.

It's now owned by an ABS member.  As Albs says, it's just sitting there not being used as he has several other projects on the go, including a complete ground up restoration of a genuine LC.  This guy's attention to detail beggars belief!!  :o

Last time I spoke to him, he said he'd probably let the Omega go if the right money was offered...  ;)

They're actually quite small :-\ When new anything over 15" was seen as exotic :o how times change ::)

Put a set of GLS wheels with all the laquer falling off, and that would pass as a proper rat sleeper 8)

Obviously got the far superior PFL doors judging by the rust spots ;D

Edited as a direct result of my stupidity :-[ It's got the far superior pfl door rust because it is a far superiorly rusted pfl ::)

IIRC they are 17" rims on the LC.  :y

Ideally, I'd put some 15" steelies on and the PFL wheel trims, but I doubt they would fit over the LC's AP brake calipers (assuming they are fitted...)  :-\

Yea, the LC Omega is still alive, owned by an ABS member. As to the Irmsher senators, they were available over here. There are two I know of in ABS. There are also a few Irmsher Carltons around in both 3.6 and 4.0 litre guises. There is also the LS, Lotus Senator. Its the origional idea Vauxhall had before picking the Carlton. It has an uprated auto box to handle the power

Yep that was Lotus's original concept.
It now belongs to a friend of mine who bought it with a snapped chain and some valve damage.  It's now been rebuilt with new turbo's.

He actually wanted to convert it to manual but myself and a few others talked him out of it!

Another friend of mine has an Irmscher Senator parked outside her house under a tarp.
