My wife and daughter get travel sick when in the back of the car owing to its wallowy nature (and my need for enjoyment whilst driving). Any suggestions for firming up the rear springs and/or dampers. Both springs and dampers are currently fine although have done 137K.
It'll never tow as I removed the factory tow bar and its very very unlikely to be loaded anywhere near the rear axle payload. I don't want a silly drop nor a bone shaking ride. I've looked at changing to MV6 spec but drawn a blank but have also thought about saloon spec. Basically something firmer and possibly 10-20mm lower is the idea.
What would you suggest?
Thanks
Anthony

Saloon spec just won't work... Completely different ;)
Bilstein B4 and Eibach springs are a known entity. I'm sure Eibach do a set at standard height as well as the 30mm drop :-\

I have the above on my estate and is still very smooth and a nice ride for rear passengers. It also goes around the corners nicely. If you want the mv6 setup send a pm to andyc with your reg number. he will let you know price and wether it can be done on your car. :y

Thanks for the suggestions. I look into both a bit more.

Does the car have self levelling :-\
Plod springs are a bit beefier and give a standard ride height. You will probably find that the subframe bushes are shot at that mileage, swap them for poly Monaro ones, as that keeps the back end nice and tight :y Also at that mileage the shocks are well past their best :-\
Silly question, often overlooked, what tyre pressures are you using?
Add that lot together:- worn bushes, soft shocks and soft tyres, then you've the perfect recipe for a two ton spacehopper :-\

Where can I find poly Monaro bushes?? How they look?? I need to replace them and I was thinking about lamforder ones :-\

Monkfish Performance, or try Pedders Suspension :y
Can pm Pedders as they are members here :y
Part your looking for is EP1145 :y

Thank you :y

There's no self levelling which I'm very happy about. When I next get it on the ramp I'll look again at the bushes. From past experience I'm cautious about lowering springs unless the dampers are shortened as well as often with a bit of additional load, the dampers are at the limit of their operating length. Back burner for this one though as I discovered yesterday that the aircon has given up. Don't know if it's relay, switch or pump yet although I know it's not a refrigerant issue. Only way to stop it misting up at the mo is to turn the system off and open the windows just like you used to do 40 years ago.

I've decided to go for MV6 springs and B4 dampers. I'll get the springs new so need to identify which 2 letter code applies to sport estate rear springs. I think I may have narrowed it down to LU LW or LX but would appreciate confirmation.
Thanks
