Post by: omega3000 on 31 October 2012, 11:40:02
Can my radiator in the house downstairs be taken off without draining the whole system ? I bought a new rad yrs ago and the old one thats on needs replaced . Its got a screw in thing one end and a thermostat turny thing the other . The last time i asked a plumber he took a deep breath and said hmmmm thats a big job  :-\

Don't use him then!

Easy peasy, the side with the screw, tighten that and it closes the flow. Set the stat to 0, then loosen each side, you will drain a fair amount of water out (what ever is in the radiator) then fully unbolt and remove.

It should be just clipped to the wall on a couple of supports, just lift the rad up
