Title: 2/3 solenoid
Post by: Nickbat on 31 October 2012, 22:33:05
A while back, someone on here posted some pics of their AR25 stripped down, showing the location of the 2/3 solenoid.

Anyone remember who it was? Mine's playing up and I may get it changed before winter sets in. The pics would be useful to show a mechanic if he's unfamiliar with the auto box.  :y

Im sure an OOF mechanic would do it for a fraction of that Nick. :y

True, Albitz, but it's finding one in this neck of the woods that is the problem. They all seem to bit oop North or way West.  ;) :(

James v6 tends to travel around a bit. First thing I would do is try to source a known good used solenoid. New from Vx is probably a small fortune. :y
Tbh,you could buy a good gearbox for no more than £100 if you cant find a solenoid. Then have the choice of taking the solenoid out of it or just fit the whole box.
It might be worth posting a wanted ad for a solenoid as a first step ?
