Title: Earls Court area, London
Post by: jonny2112 on 31 October 2012, 23:23:41
Anyone know of anywhere to stay fairly handy to Earls Court?
SWMBO may be heading to London in December, and from what I can see the bus from Gatwick goes to Earls Court. Accomodation nearby would be handy.

Cheers  :y

There are some fairly cheap hotels guest houses nearby. I tend to use hotels.com but also look at reviews on trip advisor or similar.

Earls Court - tell her to master the Aussie accent. Then she will get cheap accommodation and a job doing barwork as soon as she arrives. :y ;D

Oh dear, is it that bad?
Usually we would stay near Liverpool St station as the coach from Stansted stops there. Flight times are favouring gatwick this time round, and the corresponding coach stops at earls court. Just thought it would save her having to travel further for accommodation  :-\

Earls court is ok.Its that traditionally for some reason,Aussies tend to congregate there when they arrive in London, and always seem to end up working in bars. ;)

Gatwick gets you into Victoria by Train or Coach, then only 4 stops by electric worm to Earls Court, a lot closer than Liverpool Street.

TBH the cheap hotels (if you can call them cheap) can be a bit Hit and Miss in Central London, theres a Holiday Inn Express in Earls Court (Cost?), or if its for a few nights might be better stay in the Premier Inns. Express, Ibis type a bit further out and travel the distance on the tube, at least that way you know what to expect of the Rooms and Facilities etc.

Also worth checking out any special offers on the run up to Xmas on the Bigger Hotels, as they get quieter, I remember staying in the Hilton Hotel in Mayfair for 1 night on a Xmas Bash, about 25.00, a lot cheaper than getting a Cab home.
