Comet pulled out of NI years ago and I always forget about them, usually until a Christmas ad campaign or something. No ads this year then  :(
That'll be more poor sods out of work now too. So sad

I used to work for Comet.

Feel very sad for my comrades who are still there.

As with most retail chains, you get some serious competition between local stores.  I was fortunate enough to work in the best of the best - '1035 Longwell Green'.  Biggest Core Store money taker in the UK.  Great team.

Who am I kidding, it was shite.  ;D

I used to work for Comet.

I spent around 12 months at Comet delivering to Customers homes in a 7.5 tonne van.
It was a rubbish job that involved at least 10 hours a day six days a week, Saturday and Sunday included.
We were expected to do around 20 drops a day some of which included T.V. / washing machine installs, removing doors on American style fridges, etc...

Not a good company to work for.

Good store for browsing/testing till one of their staff pounce on you that is then leave and buy else where ;) .

(no offence intended to oof members probably was a one off store which is still open as far as i know)

I just sent my Sony laptop back for repair last week to Comet.  I doubt I will see that again!
