Hope these pictures will help and perhaps enlighten some of our members that have not had any need to do any reactive work on their Miggy....
We always go on about the importance of clean breathers and regular vx coolant. The following pictures will show why its important.
These are main influences ( but not the only ones) of leaking cam covers and oil coolers. Both messy awkward jobs that could be avoided. On the cam covers....well do you think your plugs, leads or DIS would remain unscathed?
So if you have not expecienced either of these but have heard them mentioned on here...look on ;) and considor when your breathers and coolant was last done.
Note this is a car we are currently breaking NOT mine, thought the pics may be usefull... and its tragic some people let cars get to this state...
Can you see the spark plug - it really should have water wings...

more disgusting plug wells with cam cover off and evidence of oil cooler failure ( long ago?)

oil cooler failure - this is what it does to your coolant pipes - NOT easy to remove....

this pipe was clogged solid with goo

....and the header tank...

That concludes tonights preachy sermon boys and girls....hope someone may find the pics usefull :)

Should have got some pics of my heads yesterday - apparently they were quite clean, a testament to the regular servicing it gets.

I`ll be removing these heads and having a go at "reviving" them so will take plenty of before and after pics ;)
