Title: HG Day at Telford
Post by: TheBoy on 26 April 2008, 22:15:59
Yet another successful day at Timbuk's unit.  Spanner twirling and cars fixed :y - including mine :D

I got there 30mins later than planned, due to a couple of 'coolant stops', but probably mostly due to fairly decent 'morning after' illness.  I than promptly smacked myself in the face on about the first job I did, severely reducing visibility on my dominant eye, which made for some interesting attempts at putting in bolts later  :-[

Marks_DTM slaved away most of the day, showing that HGs on a V6 can be done in a day, even if I did try slowing him down with leaving him a 'challenge' on the SIA system  :-[

Elite Pete swapped a diff over, and a new get of cam gaskets went on, I think by Captn Zok and Loo-knee.

Some of Timbuks HG stuff got done, but he was busy helping everyone else out.

JamesV6CDX popped in to lend a hand, and Maria kept us watered with tea and choccie cake all day :y

Jimbob, as normal, did his best to kill us all. You need a doctor, Mr Jimbob! Thanks for getting the stat seal and bringing down :y

Thanks to everyone for an enjoyable day, and particular thanks to Marks_DTM for the work done on mine, not just today, but also in prepping the heads for today.  Thanks to Timbuk for the unit, and for all the help.

Bathtime for me now....

We've just got in, his lordship grabbed a packet of savory eggs out the fridge scoffed the lot and has retired for the evening.
Think we tired the poor lad out. ;D

Glad to see you were taking it easy with the new HG when you passed us Jaime.

I enjoyed it although I am a little bit stiff today.

Hopefuly it cured the issue although the headgaskets looked perfect to me.

The oil cooler seal, stat and water pump were a little worse for wear though.

Found I had a coolant leak this morning, seemed to only leak once warmed up.  Dripping off the undertray, was quickly able to pinpoint it.  I think it was an area you were working, though the cam sensor may have thrown you ;D.  Then again, may have been my job to do it  :-[

Picture to follow later.

Seriously, though, I would just like to reiterate my appreciation for yesterday - certainly not a job I think I could tackle, even after seeing it done.

Apart from the small leak found this morning as mentioned above, it appears water tight.  I have 'tested' it at speed, as well as round town, all good. Temp much more stable, so glad we (ie YOU) did the stat :D

Going through history - and I think I have all history - no sign of waterpump replacement....

It was a brilliant day yesterday really enjoyed it (although I was bullied yet again  ;D).... there was talk of hanging me from a balcony, so had to hide quickly ;D

"Little Miss Daisy" was doing around 90 when someone came passed and went out of sight sharpish ::)

Bighed I haven't tried the steering wheel yet mate as been messing with our cars all day here, but Gran Turismo will be going on shortly, thanks again for that :y

Cheers Timex for your excellent hospitality once again, oh and the fags and pop ;) ;D :y
