Title: What Now ??
Post by: SteveAvfc. on 05 November 2012, 17:13:28
On the weekend i posted the following thread in the discussion area.

Not quite a new car just my Desmond with renewed life after two years of frustrations. Car has always had problems running smoothly when cold or at slower speeds, posted threads on this before and follow all advice given ie cleaning of breathers cam gasket renew but all this seemed to be in vain.
So in one last attempt to solve the issue i purchased a throttle body and air flow metre + pipes, only second hand but not wishing to buy new if this was not the answer.
And guess what ive got a new car fan bloodytastic. Back in love with my Omega.

BUT Have i spoke to soon got into car this morning ready for what ever Monday can throw at me and then it happened.Car started but i had no acceleration disconnected & reconnected the sensor on the throttle body but nope nothing doing just a ticking over.
Anyway at 4.30 in the morning help is not at its peak so i came indoors and drowned my temper in a cup Nescafe. Twenty mins later went out turned the key and every thing is as it should be and has been coming out of work tonight. So what was it and is it the sign of some thing about to go tits up.  ??? ??? ??? ??? Many thanks for your forthcoming comments Steve.

When fitting replacement throttle body or acc. pedal sensor you should turn ign. on and wait for between 10-30secs before attempting to start the engine as the two TPS`s need to re-programme.
As it now appears to be OK the new values are probably now programmed
