Title: Mobile data usage
Post by: 05omegav6 on 05 November 2012, 23:30:45
Is a monthly data usage of 2.5gb alot?

It would appear that my phone has an adjustable usage warning, that I happened to trigger today ::). Fortunately I have a proper phone contract with unlimited data use ::)

If your only Browsing on the mobile then yes, if your Tethering or watching Video or BBC catchup etc   on the Mob then no.

Pretty much all have a FYP, except Three, they throttle on there all you can eat after a while or T Mobile which let you browse but no video or downloads after there FYP limit.

T mobile Full Monty, no FYP 8), does slow down a little if the phone is left in hotspot mode for over 12hours, just turn the hotspot off and back on again and all good. Usually hangs up because the phone is trying to update summat ::)

Good plan, but not cheap, read the small print, they dont have a FYP at the mo, but have a 'we can limit you / Network Performance Policy', also if you tether on your mobile, use this before you load each session -

http://www.accelerator.t-mobile.co.uk

and then Tick - Lower speed = original image quality (not recommended)   ;)
works well for images and watching / skipping Videos, catchup etc.
