Today I've been on road again for six long hours and came to mind a common childhood dream of mine, in which I'm just driving and driving like Mad Max in the movie. At the time it seemed really romantic and Mel Gibson was my number one superhero. :D Nowadays when this dream seems to be realised I am often fed up with the situation just keep driving on endless roads ever and ever where you can never be really hero but a simple nobody...Do you have any dream that realized and caused a fair bit of disappointment ? :)

Frustration dreams are the worst.
The one where I'm building a brick wall but only have a limited number of bricks. I therefore have to take the bricks from the bottom of the wall in order to keep going.
This dream really pisses me off. :-\ :( :y

Actually Mrs Opti tells me about her disappointment that she woke up and found that it wasn't Brad Pit who rolled on top of her ;) ;)

Have you ever noticed that real happenings are part of your dream before you wake up......like, say, in your dream a phone is ringing in a room, and you startle into awakeness, and the phone downstairs is ringing :y Just a sample, but I have had things like that happen a lot, car engines, people talking, etc, etc....and they all form part of the dream

Have you ever had a dream where, when you woke up, you were unsure if it was real or not? frightened myself a couple of times with that one........the relief when you realise it Was a dream...... ;) ;)

That's because when you nod off and wake up your hearing is the last sense to shut down and first to become active, so if you hear a phone ring (a real phone) as you're waking up, it'll probably become part of a dream, then you fully wake up, and it's ringing in real life.

Yes mate....and it is, as you say, flippin' scary. Also, have you been dreaming you are trapped and you are dying, you resign yourself to death....everything goes black....then you wake up...I don't mind admitting, I have been afraid to go back to sleep ??? ??? ???

Trying to remember the last time dreamed... Dreamt (?) anyway, er, one I always go back to, as a nipper, being conscious of feeling anxious, as if being stalked or hunted, by something in the dark, but fully asleep.
What ever it's was that was after me leapt out, and made me jump, physically.
At that moment I woke up, as I jumped, to find the cat had jumped onto the bed. It was he cat that startled me.
I always wondered, was I aware of the cat as I slept somehow, or did the dream happen in the split second it took for the cat to land on the bed and me to jump. :-\
I often day dreamed of winning a bike gp at Brands. ...yeah right. ;D

I also have one. In my dream I'm lying on the ground and as slowly getting conscious I see that I'm on a battlefield where there are a lot of other either dead or seriously wounded people. I'm a member of the loser army and the winners walking around the bodies lying on the ground and shot down the survivors. One of the winners looks at me and sees that I'm still alive so step above me then pick his revolver up and BANG... :( I don't know why but I think of this dream as not dream but a remembrance. :o
A bit we departed from the original question though... ;D ;D ;D

I have found in the middle of a bad dream, I can tell myself Im dreaming and wake myself up.
I have tried to change the direction of the dream but so far not managed it,

Apparently its bad to dream of falling , maybe old wives tale :-\ Being chased is a frightening dream as your running with thrashing legs in the bed while swmbo gets kicked , or dreaming your in a fight throwing a few jabs and uppercuts to swmbo's pillow ;D ;D ;D

Teenage dreems / I can't put them on here because I might give some of the older members a heart attack but they all seemed to involve me, Debbie Harry, Toyah Wilcox, Samantha Fox and Linda Lovelace ::) :-X :-X :-X :D

I had a recurring dream as a child that I was being chased by a huge red,hot ball of something or other.My parents would hear me yelling in the middle of the night and come into my room to find me trying to climb up the wall to get away from it,and was always soaked in sweat.
Eventually,that and symptoms of constant tiredness and other symptoms I cant remember now,prompted them to take me to the doctor.The doctor ran tests to diagnose whther I had rheumatic fever or was just mental.
The tests proved positive on both counts. ;D

My worst recurrent dream is when I'm bursting to go to the toilet during the night and all of the toilets are out of action or have big long queues.
