Mine's a 2.5 V6 so has 2 of these... but even on TC are they really this much or have I chosen the wrong thing? :o :o :o
Aftermarket alternative???

Or know good used ones ? - assuming you have ascertained that you definitely have a faulty one ?

sorry for being stoopid :-[ but i think i get what you mean now. we definitely established the o2 sensors were being lazy but i now see that you mean there could be reasons for that......... air leaks, maf etc.
SO. before i get th new sensors...
i've checked all breather pipes are secure.... is there a test of other leaks? like spraying carb cleaner about the engine while its running?
my apologies as youve tried to explain this several times but im dumb as :-[ :-[

dont waste your money on second hand lambda sensors if you really need them..

I wouldnt necessarily agree Cem.Bearing in mind the value of Webbys car and the fact he may have a pair of sensors from his recently scrapped "Ralf". I wouldnt buy pattern sensors,new from Vx prohibitively expensive (£230 a pair with the VAT),so..... ;)

Albs, if you/he plans to use the car for short time its ok.. but if you plan to use it for some years lambdas must be new.. they have a chemical compound surface and it degrades..I have seen serious firms on the net recommending the lambda sensors to be changed at 100K (kms) as their planned lifetime was no more than that .. ??? :P considering the mileage of miggies , I think no need for further comment.. :y

Ive seen them do twice that without giving any trouble though. ;)
Imo its arguably pointless spend £250 on a couple of small parts for a £500 car.

honestly you can use them but they will loose performance and consume more fuel..

The lambdas are uber reliable and often only get damaged by failed head gaskets (the antifreeze does not agree with them!)
For me a second hand set would be no issue if known good. :y

Had a lazy Lambda on my 3.2. Only bothered the LPG.
Found a Genuine Bosch item for £50 new from all parts direct. Might have been plus vat though.
And as the tc image above says 94-03, my sensor was very different to what came out The Daddy's pre face lift. (Guys old car)
So the year is important to get the right one, I'd of said.
But as you have known good and no LPG, wack em in. If needed.

They do sometimes go a bit lazy with age, or the heaters fail sometimes. Otherwise pretty reliable.
As per my first post (and PM), I'm suspicious of both being problematic...

well i'm going to check again for leaks, replace the maf sensor with the one from ralf (see if that helps), breather clean and oil change (oil change not related just happens to be due) and give it this italian tune up people keep talking about.... i'm so slow i dont even know how to do it ;D
and then if all else fails the O2 sensors.
sound like a plan? :)

Air leaks can make both Lamdas look lazy until it trims right up.

Frenco got me a sensor £48 as mine had a dodgy after market jobby with joined up wires--not clever.
at least frenco item was pre wired--plug n play :y
