Hi beans and welcome :y

The gearbox fluid change is covered in the maintenance guides :y there is no dipstick because it is supposed to be a "sealed for life" unit, although we recommend changes :y You need to remove the sumps ;)

The gearbox should hang on to first when cold to enable the cats to warm up (for emissions purposes) but it does sound like you would benefit from a change :y

may be worth just checking the fluid level in the box first, but if you feel the need to replace the fluid and filter see this link for info :y
