Title: Constructive weekend
Post by: TheBoy on 27 April 2008, 21:24:00
Got the MV6 HGs changed on Saturday, as has been well discussed on another thread.

Today, finished the fitting of the carin system (as a backup for when phone goes flat), finished installation of CCRT700 in MV6, fitted the trafficmaster, after fixing the unit (the black ones seem a PITA), fixed the coolant hose on properly, and did up the jubilee clips on bagpipes.  Fitted TM to Mrs TheBoys Rover. Then cleared out a shed load of fault codes from the MV6, caused mostly by switching on ign with half the engine in bits, and by switching on ign today with part of the body loom disconnected ::)

Spent Saturday @ dealers for a new Crank sensor & Knock sensor, as the migs been flashing the EML light & losing power every now & again. Got the crank sensor, the knock sensor is an order-in part. took the beast to my sisters house to use their ramps. Changed Crank sensor, no difference, put hand down the side of the engine to trace where the knock sensor was & found cable split in two >:(
Stripped front end & removed alternator. repaired broken cable.
All fixed now & the beast's got its "mojo" back.
Took it for a "spirited" run home then finished the stella in the fridge
sunday was a lazy one.
