Was just listening to radio prog......and women on it said make sure your not paying extra for buying bigger bags of one item...
I buy Holly her food in 1Kg boxes........coz its cheaper buying 5 x 1kg boxes of food than a 5kg bag of food.......work that one out.......but its true buying smaller packs of food is sometimes cheaper :-/
And thats from a major food retailer starting with T.......... ::)

Have to watch it when buying our cat food, if the boxes are on offer then they work out cheaper than a big bag. :)

Yes, smaller packs can be on offer with a cheaper trade price pro-rata than for the large unit, thus the retail price reflects this. It is always best to check out the LIS (line indicator strip) on the shelf to see if any price per Kg or equivilant is shown to see what is the best deal at that point in time.
With promotions in supermarkets it is also possible for own brand product to be dearer than branded ones. You have to keep your brain alert when shopping to get the best deals. :y :y

It is a trade price offer, one of those absurdities, that continues to affect the retail price. Witnessed it many times in my time in the retail trade. :y

ive noticed some of the multi pack crisps you buy, the pks inside have naff all in them.
rustlers burgers are 97p at the moment. well worthy of a quid :) :)

i have noticed a substantial increase in food shopping, i wnt to tesco and spent £30 or so and there was nothing there really, EVERYTHING is going up, its getting stupid,
