In the past others have commented how poor quality light bulbs (non-Bosch) can show a fault reading even though they are working perfectly ok.

no bulbs needed to be changed & ive never had this message before. irony of it my mig passed its mot only a few hours before the check message appeared. which has made me wonder if when they checked the towbar electrics , could thier equipment have caused it.

The fault being there means the system is reading a bulb failure .. a techII session will make no difference at all.

Solution is simple, find out which bulb the system "thinks" has failed. Buy a decent quality bulb and replace each bulb in turn, or, more simply, buy 4 decent bulbs and replace them all .. :)

Check system does not cover towbar, double check all bulbs are working  :y

That is possible.

Once my MOT inspection led to the headlight level system device on the front nearside wishbone being damaged! :(   So yes the MOT inspector could have done something to create the fault.  I would certainly inspect the towbar electrics.

+1 and/or replace all bulbs with good quality ones (Vx genuine or Ring work well with Omegas) - Halfords bulbs do not!  ;)
