What is the answer to this please?................. :y

Y is directionally proportional to X, if Y= 5 and X= 1.5 find X when Y=

Next questions - T is directly proportional to the square root of L, T= 6 and L= 6.25 find T when L= 1.96

y=nX and there is something wrong in the question.. they must ask one of them not both unknown!

y=nX and there is something wrong in the question.. they must ask one of them not both unknown!

Maths is a subject you have to be ok at to get through an engineering degree!  :y ;D

T is directly proportional to the square root of L, T= 6 and L= 6.25 find T when L= 1.96

T= n (√ L) given the original facts T = 6 L = 6.25   

then 6 = n(√6.25) or, n = 6/ √6.25;  n= 6/2,5;  n= 2.4

To find T when L = 1.96

T = n(√1.96) = 2.4 (from above) (√1.96) = 2.4(1.4) = 3.36

I used to be able to do maths ........ all of the above makes me realise I've forgotten a lot  ::) ::) ;D ;D

I can work my wage slip out though  ;) ;)
