My first Vauxhall was a 1958 Victor Super in 1970 when I was a student which almost folded in two (due to rust) when the rear doors were opened.  It was followed by a 1957 Victor which was almost rust free but unfortunately written off by a rogue Austin Westminster in the middle of Southsea, happy carefree student days!

I had two Mk.1 Ashtrays, a metalic green 1300 just before I passed my test and a black 1300S just after, the black one came with  a 1.6SR roof spoiler, GTE interior and Manta alloy wheels. I fitted a Manta steering wheel and clocks from an SRi Cavalier...

Mine was a 65 Victor 101 saloon in white. repainted it in light blue mettalic and sold it straight on. My next was what I always called my first proper car, a 64 Victor FB estate. Fantastic car. I do have an old slightly faded photo of it somewhere, Persian blue roof, Roulette blue body.

Mine was a Red Corsa B FL 1998 1.2 16v 5 door. Bought it in 2002 with only 13k on the clock, sold it 4 years later with 56k. I absolutly loved that little car. The only problem i had in 4 years with it, was the idle air valve went kaput.

My first was an almost new MK2 Astra 1.4 merit with 4 speed box. Povo spec but economical and reliable, that was closely followed by a MK1 Astra GTE that I got for pennies because some angry husband had covered it in brake fluid, the colour scheme was black and red lead ::)

a brief sojourn in a Vx4/90 in about 1982/3

first "proper, all working, and "modern" (at the time) Vauxhall was a 1984 2.0 carlton cdi (in 1985) in metallic burgundy with charcoal velour interior.

followed in 87 by a 2.2 version of same.

followed in 88 by my first 3.0 sennie ( D reg, )

and i've more or less been driving 3L+ vx's ever since ....

My first vauxhall was a mk1 Astra 1.3 sr I think in copper metallic and as mentioned before yes it went like stink but smoked like a smoky thing lol to the point that if you floored it the road and everyone behind you dissapered even Q would have been proud of that lol I finally died when it started to make a ticking noise not very loud by noticeable so my mate had his head under the front as I blipped the throttle and it went bang big time he lost his eye brows and singed most of his head when we looked we found a big hole in the block and number 3 piston upside down in the sump strangely enough we rocked it back and forth in top and it in sezied and it started up on the key lol

My first Vauxhall was a crappy 1.8GLSi Belmont, MkII. Hated it before I bought it. Don't ask.

Its one redeeming feature was a peach of a motor. Or at least its first one, which took exception to being slammed into 1st at 70mph, due to a really poor gearbox. Replacement engine was a dog. Only had the car 3 months, put around 15k on it.

Replaced with an Astra GTE MkII. Ladies car. Had that a year, before I came to my senses, and kept away from Vauxhall for a few years.

!st VX, Victor FB VX490. 1600 twin carb, ally head, four on the floor. Me too usually, repairing it. £50 quid back in '75. Lasted about a year then the rings went in 4 cylinder.  >:(
Migrated to Ford for a while and then the next VX was an FD Victor (Randall & Hopkirk shape). 1st auto for me too. Loved the styling to bits-still do. Not many about now though.  :(

My first Vauxhall was a 3.0 Manual Ventora in red, had it for about 2 years and then let someone borrow it, came back with bigend failure. I then got another 3.0 Ventora this time an auto, very reliable lasted me for ages. Since then I have had 2 3.0 Senator's both 12 valve auto and 2 3.0 Omega's first saloon and now estate.

I was a bit late to the Vauxhall party, had been driving for about 10 years before I got one. First was a Senator, 3 litre 12v auto, great car, indestructible, went well, loved it. Inspired by that experience I then bought a beaut of a 24v manual, learnt all about fragile simplex chains and soon had to buy something else! Next one was a 24v manual ex police car which was a goer but tatty, and I wasn't at all impressed with the basic spec, so those two became one good car. Then I got into Omegas, and somewhere along the way also had a Carlton Dippy, Cav Sri 130 8v, red top and ecotec.

I can't pretend to be loyal to Vauxhall as the two Omega's, the previous 98 Elite and my current one, are the only Vauxhalls I've owned. I bought the Omega purely for its weight as a tow car. It was a bonus that it's a nice car to drive.  :y

1st Vauxhall (and first car) HB Viva 1159cc - green & rust.
2nd Vauxhall - just over a year after the Viva - Chevette HS 2300.
3rd Vauxhall - Viceroy 2500 straight 6. My introduction to big lazy autos.
A 10 year gap followed when I had little interest in cars, and drove tedious Fords.
4th Vauxhall - Senator 3.0 24v CDi - god I loved that car.
5th Vauxhall -  Identical Senator to use for spares for the first.Never need any spares though.
6th Vauxhall - my first Omega. A 2.5 V6 CD. A big disappointment after the Senator.
7th Vauxhall - My current Omega. Facelift 2.5 V6 with LPG.Started life as a CD but have gradually upgraded it so that almost everything is now Elite spec. Ive grown quite fond of the old thing over time, despite the fact its Star Silver.
8th Vauxhall - Omega, 3.2 Elite, 2002 in black. Broken for parts.
9th Vauxhall - Omega 2.5 Elite, 2000 in blue. Broken for parts.
10th Vauxhall - Omega 2.6 CDX estate. Bought as a project to fix up. Fixed it and sold it.
11th Vauxhall - Omega 3.0 Elite 2000 in Silver. Broken for parts.
12th Vauxhall - who knows ? Watch this space. :D

When I need to remember any of this in the future I can do a search for this thread. :)

My mate's was white though.  :y :y :y  While he had it he joined the navy and was an officer cadet at Dartmouth.  Not long after he joined up, someone in authority told him to change it as he looked like a boy racer and it wasn't the sort of image that The Royal Navy wanted for it's officer cadets!!! ::) He got a 1100 VW Polo saloon instead!!!  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

This was mine, A422 UGG .
I had it from new and this was it at 7 months  :'(
Fully loaded with measuring equipment ,full tank of fuel and a fast left hand bend just outside Kilmarnock with a recessed manhole on greasy wet roads saw it's days with me over. I took out a bus shelter , lamp post and slithered about 75 yards ( yep, we used yards in those days  ;) ) over new grass .
Fortunatly it all happened at a notorious spot and the lamp post had been hit before & replaced with a collapsable metal one whilst all the others on the road were the old concrete type.Policeman said that the last person to hit that pole was killed. :o

I came quite late to Vauxhall.

My first was a 1996 'P' plate V6 auto saloon Cavalier. When I checked the DVLA data base it was listed as stolen and not recovered. Loved the tourque steer when you raced novas/corsa from the lights..........

Wish I'd been able to keep it really. I traded it for the 'meega

Will I stay Vauxhall? Not sure, but really like RWD, so that will probably be a big influence whenever I come to consider next car.......

Like my 'meega too much to want to change at the moment......
