(Moved from Newbie area) I have had a CID for a while and have tried to get the unit set up in place of the GID. The radio is an NCDC 2013 although I also have a 2015. Since the car is a 2002 facelift elite is it simply a matter of putting in the extra plug (taped behind the pillar) into the GID and replugging the original plug into the display or is there some set up required? The local VX dealer has no idea!
I know all the theory about de-linking the units - but as they came to me with no history, I do not know whether there is any way that I could check or at least default them both. :)

The NCDC units need to be paired to the CID, unless the CID is in "delivery mode" it cannot really be paired to the head unit.
I understand there is a way, but it can turn the CID into a brick. The odds are fairly high about it doing it too!
TheBoy is the best person to approach about this :y

Is there a wiring diagram that would allow me to connect the units out of the car?

What would be the point? :-\

I've got a loom I use for testing that I made up, shame your not closer.

Is the CID in delivery mode? If not, do you know its pairing code?
If the answer is no to both, use it as a paperweight ;)

The problem that I have is that the radio & CID came from the same person, but they did not know anything about the pairing. I would therefore like to put them together before I start pulling out the working system from the car - hence the wiring diagram.
I take it that you cannot default either the radio or the CID as far as you know?

As has been previously said, if both the NCDC20XX and CID came from the same car, then you should be able to plug them both into your car and they will word fine. As you said yourself, simple plug the existing 32 pin connector, and the spare 12 pin connector into the CID on installation...
If they are not from the same car, then you will need the pairing codes, someone with an intimate knowledge of Tech 2 programming, and a bit of luck...
No pairing codes? As TB says, you have a very expensive paper weight...

So i have put the two parts together and the message comes up Radio safe and beeps, but only limited operation - this presumably means that the two parts are in delivery mode and now need to be paired with a tech2?

Nope. Sounds like at least one device is paired, just not to each other.
