Took my car to have the tracking bone this morning only to be told by 3 garages they couldnt do it even quick fit said it had to go on a specialtracking machine and have 75kg of weight put in each foot well anyway at the 4th garage they put the car on the ramp and sorted it my question is are the guys a quick fit for real ? or taking the pee :o

They're not called 'Quikfitup' for nothing! ;D ;)
Also, fyi, the Omega requires a 'proper' geometry setup and the only known place that is trusted by OOF is 'Wheels in Motion' at Chesham or there accredited Franchises. WiM in Chesham (Tony) gives a discount to OOF members if you mention it when booking, the franchised garages do not unfortunately! Click the link.....

As previously mentioned get WIM or one of the franchise to sort it, speaking from experience it is money well spent. :y :y :y

AM lucky got given an old set of tracking gear a couple of years ago-used it then took it to get checked and was spot on-so at least i knew gear was correct- :y

Pete....I know I'll probably get drawn over the coals for this....but I have two Estates, and both have cheap tyres, and I have never had a problem. Its a case of I just cannot afford the top range stuff. My mileage is low, so they don't get a hammering. I have been to WIM in Chesham, ( just down the road for me luckily ), with my cheap tyres on, and had no problems whatsoever with tracking :y Not had any wear problems at all.
I would add, that if you are doing loads of miles, motorway etc, then I assume top range range tyres are best. But as in my situation, I find nothing wrong with cheap tyres. Each to his own :y

Enough info to give an informed decission is important IMO.
While Terbert is in a position of knowing the risks, or otherwise, of avoiding set up fees, the, op clearly doesn't have that info available.
Seems to me, by enquiring after a set up procedure on here, there is a problem.
First question is what's the problem? Pulling? Uneven tyre wear? Perhaps?
(A pull might be fixed by tracking, uneven tyre wear may not, or vice versa depending on the fault. Hence the advice is full geometric set up, etc. By far the most common and expensive fault is camber setting btw)

wise, IMO. Mention the forum for discount, at Chesham only though. :)
