Hi
My MV6 has got a noise coming from the rear passenger side of the car. At the moment it is in the garage
but the mechanic is at a bit of a lose. It is either wheel bearing or diff wear. It makes a noise when running
and gets slightily louder the faster you drive. Apparently the diff had slightly low oil but nothing to
cause any prob. Can any one help with this as i don't want to pay for something to be repaired only to
find it isn't that and its costs me alot more.
thanks for any help. :y

I used to have the same problem, it stopped when I bought the wife her own car ;D

The way I found out which bit was wrong with mine was ....
Jack the back up as high as possible, and level, and support on axle stands.
Then jack each wheel up (I used the bottom mount of the shock absorber) until the wheels are in the "normal" position rather than hanging down ( bottle jacks worked well for this)
I then ran the engine with it in gear ..was surprised that the auto went through the gears very quickly and settled down at around 30mph in top !!
Under the car and listen basically !! You can also stop each wheel in turn by pulling on the handbrake cable to eliminate each wheel bearing ...
HTH ... proved mine was the diff .. :)

hello! I have a similar problem, I made a video, although you do not hear so much in the film really is deafening zgomotoul, no vibrations in the body, only between 85-105 km / h and then disappears. oil is changed to 1 year. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nASfwI3No5c&feature=plcp

Garage still none the wiser.
Narrowed it down to either diff or bearing or aliens.
only happens under load and rotational.
oh well nearly xmas.......................
