Truck backed and broke my Omega :'(

Luckily insurace covered all the damages but in MOT they found out that Xenon levelling is not working both are showing far too low ....
What would be the fault is any fuses involved or is control unit or sensors damaged in crash ?
should cid give some error message for xenon ?

There are level sensors on the front & rear suspension, in the UK they are on OUR passenger side, but would assume that they remain on the left for your left hand drive car. A common fault is that the arm for the front sensor comes off the sensor, check that's in place. I'd also check that when they fitted your new headlamp they manually adjusted it correctly before the electrics took over for the self level ...... they might have also adjusted your driver's side to suit the other side that they adjusted incorrectly :-\ :-\ :-\

It does if it sees a fault. But the headlamps need to be correctly set manually in the first place ....... the CID can't actually see where the headlamps are pointing to ;)

I is confused, did the truck reverse or did he brake?
Also check your 'new' lights haven't come from an Elite as they sit higher so could need manually setting up.

Truck reversed >:(, I was waiting stopped in the back.
Only right side lamp is new it was ordered from Germany by repairer....
So Elite-lamp is excatly same ( same part number ) but it is just adjusted diffrerently ??

Repairer called that he won't find the fault and
His universal code reader won't find hid option. Car should check by dealer....
I have oc tester how much can it or tec do
Can i steer/test motors and sensors . Or does it just chek that hid control unit replies?
Control unit gets power from the fuses f22 and f15 could it be that one is just blown in crash but i dint find any light fault but rear fog lights are not working...

For a replacement light, adjust the aim to the same height as the other, manually.
Diags machines can not set the height.

both are in same level.

If there's a fault on the HID system then Tech II can identify the problem, it can also cycle your head lights up & down. :y

Both sensors are stuck in one position, is there any chance to repair them as new one costs about 250 euros !!?

Remove completely, spray liberally with plusgas, try and ease free. The little ball in the socket is what seems to get full of gunge and sticks. Once free I put vaseline in the "cup" on the old 2.5 .. seemed to work ... luckily not had the problem on the 3.2 .. :)

Two things.
1. If the lamp unit is new the adjusters should be free.
2. If the lamps won't adjust up, then the front panel might have been pushed back...Are the radiator/slam panel and aux belt all parallel :-\ you'll need to remove the plastic panel from above the radiator to check this :y

I'm starting to get a tad confused now .. so lets have a recap ...
Sensors - these are on the suspension arms UNDER the car....
Actuator Arms - these are inside the lights and are know to break as quite brittle, aluminium ones are availabale and can be retrofitted
Lights themselves - As Ex Taxi Al has just posted ......
all 3 bits need to be correctly adjusted and working if the lights are to work correctly ......

They will never point in the right direction if the metal the lights are bolted to is banana shaped :'(
All three bolts that secure the lamp units bolt to the same structure. Having done this very repair on mine as a result of a similar bump last year, the front panel isn't really supported in the middle so can twist if knocked. :-\
Check the structural alignment as I suggested, and if the gaps are smaller behind the busted light then take it back and get them to fix it properly :y
Looking at your pic the radiator was damaged so highly unlikely that the slam panel is straight :-\ that's why like lights aren't right :y

Problem is that lights are always down so servos never ever move them, Only bumber, grill ,xenon , radiator, fan assembly and bonnet silghtly damaged but not any metal or fixing parts
The sensors UNDER the car are stucked in one position.
I read the error codes with o.p-c.o.m there were 8 fault codes but they didn't came back after clearing.
tester had option to test the servo motors so in 0.8V they are down and 4.2V up so they seem to work OK. So levelling might work when sensors are repaired....

Can't see the front panel being straight if the rad got busted though :-\ will upload pics from my repair tomorrow :y

Before you right the sensor off check the wiring. " of the 3 wires on the front of mine were broken in the loom some where. So I ran two new ones in.
As for the dwarf joke. Somebody put some doggy doo in his coat pocket before he gets to the door

My reader showed voltage for both sensors so wiring should be ok ?
But how this should work when starting ?
Should it work like my friends bmw in starting lights go first up and then to right position .
Or is it in omega so that sensors are read first and lights wont move if position is right
Thinking that even if my sensors are stuck should my lighs go up and the down when started or if sensors are stucked in low position or broken somehow lights wont move at all ???

There is a knack to installing the leveling motor in the back of the headlight:
1 tilt the headlight reflector until it is pointing as low as it will go (use the plug on the back of the bulb as a 'handle')
2 engage the rod on the motor with the arm on the reflector (I think it has a ball & socket joint but it is while since I last did this)
3 push the motor home and twist to lock in position
If the motor isn't engaged then the reflector will flop down and point at the floor.

I used to have a 2001 Vectra CDX with factory fit xenons, they would fully adjust up and then drop back down every time they were switched on but I've never noticed this on an Omega, I've had a mini facelift Mv6 and two facelifts...

I think the leveling motors are fairly dependable. It is the manual adjusters that are easily broken.

I've NEVER noticed the headlights move on either the 2.5 Elite with HID's or this £.2 Elite with HID's ... The only time I've actually observed movement is when a Tech2 has been motoring them !! When driving they just point at the road like they sholud !!

That is right answer to my question
So there in no startup procedure like bmw have so is sensors are broke or stuck lights wont move
