What are the symptoms of imminent coil pack failure ?
3.0 v6 Starts perfect everytime but when the engine has warmed up, usually after 2-3miles developes a miss. I can stop the engine and restart it and it's still missing. Turn engine of and start it from cold the miss has disappeared but as engine warms up the miss returns.
Checked the codes and only 12 + 31 so all is well there.
Any ideas ?

Going on my recent troubles sorting a similar problem, I recommend you check all spark plug leads, check individual cylinder firing by lifting each lead from it's plug whilst the engine is running. If no improvement then check for an air leak around the plenum and breather plastic boxes on top (especially if you have cleaned them recently) and check all rubber 'O' rings, INCLUDING the one underneath those boxes, between them and the plenum.
After that then consider replacing the DIS pack.

Could be any part of the ignition system. Oil in plug wells? Water on the dis PAC, from the scuttle or a leaking hbv is not uncommon for example.
As the coil PAC is a mare to get at, comparively speaking, and given likelyhood of oil in plug wells from failed cam cover gaskets and blocked breathers, a normall course of action would be to check/change the plugs. In doing so, any oil or damaged plug leads at the plug end will hopefully be obvious.
If no problems found and symptoms persist, then look at dis PAC, and possibly new leads while your there...?
Dis PAC tends to fail in pairs of cylinders, as it shares its three iron coors over 6 cylinders. So if one iron coor goes down, you can get one cylinder on each bank missing, this still gives a balanced engine and the car sounds like a scooby flat four.
Where as a misfire on , say, one cylinder, or two cylinders on the same bank, is far more noticeable as the the engine is unbalanced and can give quite bad vibration, and IME tends to be far more pronounced.

On the older engines, miss fires do not give an engine fault code.

Hi Chris, Yes it definately sounds like a Scoobie ;D so i tend to think it's more likely to be Dis pack coupled with the fact it only starts to miss when it warms up possibly a HT lead fault but unlikely to have 2 leads fail at same time.

I've got a good Dis pack here so might as well change the leads at same time, any recomendations other than OE ?

If cost is important, Euro car part do a set for £40 odd iirc. The lead lengths are as close to being correct as I've seen on non oe leads. Durability? Don't know yet.
Fitted a couple of sets to members cars about a year ago.

I definitely had at least two cylinders misfiring, so the DIS pack is a prime suspect and I am glad that I changed it. If you look at my pictures it was definitely on the way out ::) ::) ;)

Try Vx and it is £123 Trade for ONE bank!! :o :o
Hence why I got a great full Omega set from the local Vx breakers for £20; DIS Pack £25. :y

They are from Vx at even trade prices as I am quoted, made worse by the fact that apparently Vx only supply one bank's worth, not the single leads as they once did!! ::) ;)
That is why I HAD to go to the breakers for them. and I obtained a full set for less than one (if you could get them) from Vx.

Found the problem :y
Passenger side front plug well filling with water. No sign off water making it's way there so looked at plug well itself and i have a slight weep into the plug well :-[ looks like the plug well has gone porous.
Any ideas as to a cure ? was thinking maybe trying some of that "liquid metal" or possibly a thin stainless steel sleeve :-\
