Back in Town again at so called half price. :y if anyone missed the last offer.
Seem to be 2 sets to choose from now (not the original) their current Set and a new Combo.

Yep, was wavering over one last weekend when waiting for Mrs. KW to emerge from the TK Maxx next door to Hellfrauds. ::)
Have most of the tools separately, but having them all in one case would be so handy.
So, which one to go for?

They had two sets the last time this offer was on. After a lot of deliberation I bought the current set

Personally I prefer the Original (without the Red Box bits), still some lurking around in some Stores.

I have one of the very early versions of this kit. Had it for about 8 years now. It's been amazing nothings broken and it takes loads of abuse. Well worth the money for the keen home mechanic :y

after my Jack, best thing i bought for the garage :y

The first set is the older version. It has a full range of spanners in it. When I last went looking for it, it was not available anywhere locally. Even when I did a reserve and collect, it turned out they were pushing the new set in the guise of the older one. So you may find that there really is no choice!

I recently returned a couple of ratchets to Halfords as there was a "lifetime warranty" when I bought my set, the very young lad advised me the warranty wording had been changed last year to exclude moving parts but as I had my original receipt showing the lifetime warranty statement they replaced them........check the small print.

Same here. My sockets are in the toolbox drawer but in no set order and not on a rack. Would be nice to have them in some sort of order and the spanners etc all in one box. ::)
I keep leaving that page open on the Halfords website as a hint hint, Father Christmas gift. I've kidded myself that as my son works on his own truck he would inherit them, so they would never be wasted. :y

There are 3 versions of the 150pc set, based on age.
The 3rd/latest, like the 170pc set, is missing the 18mm spanner, which is an oversight IMHO.
In order of best, IMHO of course,
Oldest (no red box of torx bits)
Middle (red box of torx, and 18mm spanner)
Latest (red box of torx, no 18mm spanner)
I have a pair of the earliest ones, and the box clearly states that rachets are not covered for more than 1yr against "wear and tear", which is pretty grey. Never had any trouble with getting bits replaced, BUT KEEP THE RECEIPT!!!

Must admit, I keep thinking about getting a set for taking away instead of filling a top box ::) Plus it's more compact and space is now at a premium with the hound taking up the boot ::)

Not a fan of Hellfrauds screwdrivers. I bought a set on trade 2 or 3 years ago, they tend to get used for nothing more than chisels and punches ;D

Tried Screwfix?
I got a letter from Screwfix Direct thanking me for my interest, but explaining they were not a dating agency. :o
