Title: Anybody in the Hillingdon / Uxbridge area for a car viewing?
Post by: i260 on 28 November 2012, 09:49:06
There is a tempting looking black 2.6 CDX at a garage (Lionel Browne) in this area - would anybody mind casting a quick eye over it as an initial impression / maybe check out the service history / whats due?

would be appreciated if its not an inconvenience.

Just seems a bit too good to be true really but too far for me to turn up for a speculative browse.

That's v low mileage and black is the best colour.  Just a shame it's auto. If you get sight of an MOT or the V5 you can now check the vehicle MOT history free online at http://motinfo.direct.gov.uk/internet/jsp/ECHID-Internet-History-Request.jsp (http://motinfo.direct.gov.uk/internet/jsp/ECHID-Internet-History-Request.jsp)  Shows you all the mileage figures and the failures/advisories.

Pah - dont start on that line of discussion

There are those who want auto's and those who dont and each have their own reasons.

Leave it at that.

I went over to see this yesturday, came back with a LIST as long as your arm for repairs that needed doing :'( Its had a hard life for the mileage. Also the chap would only drop the price by £100. Not worth the money.
Just a couple of the jobs needed doing.
New windscreen
cam belt
waterpump
tyres
brake disks. >:(

Usual story then, low miles does not always equal a good car  :)

wow new disks at 42K.  Is that mileage genuine do you think?  My disks lasted till 180K and even then I reckon a fair MOT centre would have passed them if I'd remembered to chip the rust off the edges before they looked.
