Me daughter just told me Rolf Harris been arrested over this jimmy saville saga, any one else heard this?

Possibly anyone who worked on the likes of radio caroline on the ships anchored offshore. There is a rather interesting film about it. Can't recall the film name at the moment, something like "rock the Boat" but I could be wrong, memory failing.

Given that he hasn't actually been named, such speculation only serves to fuel this whole sorry mess :-\ Such public and media speculation gets too easily confused with fact, ruining peoples lives in the process :-\

Thats why some form of watchdog with big teeth are needed to keep an eye on the media.

Ian Hislops conversation with Jeremy Vine earlier is well worth listening to, but basically he pointed out that most of the scenarios that led to the Levinson enquiry were already very illegal rather than a bit ambiguous and therefore in need of new/tighter regulation. The rules were already in place, but a comedy of exceptionally bad decisions which were made by journalists, the Polis and Government led us to this current mess.
It should also be noted that State media control ended in the 1600s :-\

Exactly.The fact that the Met police had almost become a subsidiary of News International was a big part of the problem too. ;)

If people want to indulge in unfounded speculation they should head elsewhere where gossip is encouraged ::)

Michael's beloved mentioned something that her daughter had shown her on the internet.
She then asked us lot on here if we knew anything about it.
Nobody has accused anybody of anything here.
Just a few daft comments about kangeroo's and mine ref the BBC and the Catholic Church ::)
No ilegal act has been commited here so for gods sake (if you believe in god that is) relax ::)

It's the daft comments that could get you in hot water and to be honest I wouldn't really care, but I'd be sad if OOF or the admins got into trouble! ::) Other members have posted notes of caution about this, but have been ignored which is why I suggested the lock/delete and to be honest I'm a little taken aback at the reaction... :-\

There have been a few successful prosecutions following comments on the internet and I can see the day when 'No win No fee' law firms have people scouring sites like this for inflammatory/derogatory comments about people in the public eye. Maybe they do already!! :-\

Its ok, i wont be going on the forum anymore, i am not making daft comments, Thanks tigers gonads for sticking up for me. my opinion is it all lies anyway and i dont believe all i do see and read, some people think they perfect!! I am a typical woman and dont like being told to nicely shut up! Mrs Michael ::)

No worries dear, they are alot of folks on here who in my opinion need to get out more and mix with the real public at large ;)
There is more to life then people slipping on dog shite like some of the topics that are on here.
Where supposed to be adults and should be able to have a chat / debate about what is happening around this country we live in or the world in general without being scared that the bogey man coming to get us.
Of course, in this day and age of compensation and all that 'dangle berries' we have to be carefull what we say. I believe TheBoy and the forum had a problem with copywrite or something in the past and I understand we as a forum need to take a little step back sometimes but they is no need to burst into tears everytime a slightly controversial comes along.
Just don't make direct accusations unless it can be backed up somewhere and we will all be fine ;)
And some of the longer standing members talk about this forum being no fun at all.
I'm sure we can have these topics running along side the totally mad threads that used to make folks laugh so much ;)

Thats the one, thank you. I remember the scene where a boat full of young women arrived at the ship. All screaming for there hero DJs.
Now I wonder if that sort of thing happened for real ? And if so what where the ages of these young people ? Makes me think.
