Me engine is on its last legs dont suppose anyones got a 2.2 DTI Engine (Y22DTH)

Elite Pete I think has hinted he is selling is 2.2 DTi  :y

They are usually good for 300k though? So what's up with yours?

White smoking like a bitch on start up and starting to loose power  :-[ I'll ask E P see what's happening

So does it have any water in the oil?

It's only a four pot so not hugely difficult to change the HG as long as you are good at setting up the timing (chain which also drives the fuel pump)

No oil in the water as of yet but getting quite a lot of lag from turbs now on intial acceleration almost like a wave after it breaks through a flat spot but first start up nice big cloud of pure white smoke  :-\

Before condemming it, clean out the inlet, esp the sensors and the EGR

White smoke on start up can be duff heater plugs too !!!!

Has anyone had the wonderful task of removing and cleaning a 2.2 Dti manifold if so any things to look out for

It's not a bad job just very dirty. You'll need the two gaskets and you have to remove the injector pipes :y

Yeah but IIRC I only paid about £10 for both of them from Vauxhall ;)
