Title: Programming Key Fob
Post by: v6man54deg              Geffd on 08 December 2012, 17:17:36
Bought a new key fob as my 2nd key after fitting a new battery only unlocked the other two buttons were defunct, For £ 27 got a new one - programmed lots in the past for vectras and my wifes corsa with my "My Naff Code Reader" - no chance on the omega - went to my mates garage today to see if his £10000 diagnostics gear would do the job - no chance do everything else but not the key fob, I presume you need a genuine Tech 2 for this job or does anyone know a bit of kit that can do it?

I may not be understanding this properly, but have you still the chip to go inside the new fob.  I would have thought it would then work ok as that chip would recognize your car. ;)

Not the Immobiliser LZ, the locking system  :y

Geoff, I think the Opelscanner can only do the early keys (the ones with the separate two button fobs like the Vectra B)

Certain non-legal chinese copies of a poor Hungarian code reader have a habit of screwing the Alarm ECU. You'd be well advised to keep away from the programming with that device.

Tech2 recommended.

I have done a few later Vectra b's with the same style key no problem, will have to go to a local vauxhall specialist not going to the dealer

Early ones had seperate fob - my one has the three button remote 3rd button for the boot - there are also two types of key if its a laser cut one you can order them using the key code on your key pass
