Stage a break-in at home...and with tear-filled eyes, explain that the thieves took only the items you valued the most.  :y

Stick them on pre-loved or gumtree. Get something back for them and buy what you want.

There is no point in keeping things around you that you don't want. Especially if they were presents - as it shows that the buyer does not know your taste and there is a danger that the next gift will also be unwanted.

So, politely tell the giver you appreciate the thought, bla, bla, but it really isn't to your taste. If receptive she will enquire what your taste is. If not receptive, she'll never buy you anything ever again. Either way, problem solved.

Do like my great aunt did. Keep a detailed book of given and received. (60 years worth)

She just kept recycling stuff she didn't like. i.e. gifted it to someone else. ;D ;D

Well I don't want it. The neighbours would think I'd won the lottery and beg at my door.
On second thoughts........ :-\
