Title: Why does it always happen to me
Post by: Terbs on 12 December 2012, 21:50:40
As per the tiltle ;D
I really think I am jinxed. I really want a decent set of Wireless headphones with mic, so I found a set at PC World/Currys.  Wireless Creative Rage tactic 3 Soundblaster.
So I order online, pay and collect. E-mails start coming in, will be delivered to Wycombe by Saturday (just gone). Next mail comes in last friday....been dispatched. 'We will send an e-mail when in store. Not a peep, so we phoned head office today....Oh, they said, they were signed in at Wycombe in your name on Saturday, go down and get them. So we do. After waiting nearly half an hour, they finally find them. Yay...brilliant. :y :y

Thing is....we get home, unwrap them....they are the usb wired version. ??? So I check the website and do a few enquiries...they are selling the wired version under the Wireless version description. I don't think there will be any problem getting a refund (Distance selling)

Its just that you would think a store as big as them, would get it right, wouldn't you

Just spoken to online PCWorld....they were profusely sorry about the mixup. He checked the website and is going to pull the product as it is misrepresentation.
Really nice fella, reckons the promotion team have made a cockup, as the picture shown is from the manufacturers site for the usb wired version, and they have put Wireless version in the product description. Checked their stocks in case they had a wireless version, but he said all the stock was the wired one. He called them a few things...lol ;D He said, we could be getting a lot of returns  going through for the next month on this one ;D ;D

aaah the old, operator error issue, hmmmm ;)

Had one of IT blokes tied up trying to sort my phone out today, not able to access my messages but thought this was down to me working in another office the last few weeks......he could not work it out so I used a different phone, put it on speaker so he could hear the instruction I was getting.

OK so off for a think, a little later he rang and asked me what buttons I was pressing - 4 digit code followed, and the penny dropped, for some reason I was pressing star instead of hash - I really did feel rather silly, indeed a right 'terbert'..... :D :-[ :-[ :-[

it is now 10.50pm and 30 mins ago my daughter (in her thirties) fell through the cellar staircase - badly bruised and shaken. Stair tread split - it is the open staircase type. Tomorrow's project is to sort out insurance surveyor etc now and hope she does not need trip to A and E.

Started a 10 minute job of changing the shower valve body and it's turned into a ruddy decorating job thanks to one poxy seal that won't go in any other way. >:(

Many thanks - will pass on - she was very upset when it happened - bruising is quite bad and will have sore ass for a couple of days. Now left them to track down joiners.

Another issue - following their wedding last Saturday my son and his wife set off for a mini-moon to Marakesh at 4.30am this morning and he managed to back his Porsche 911 into a parked car!! Left his mum to deal with the problem as usual - cheers!!
