Title: Broken rear spring
Post by: horsecow on 13 December 2012, 19:29:21
Just discovered I have a broken rear spring (passenger side). Any idea on cost of these and is it better to replace both when I'm at it?

Essential they are replaced in pairs. KYB will be around £45 each, GM about double as a guess.

I fitted KYB good price and seem ok
Have heard on the site that they rust quicker than standard but with the large  saving in price it seems the way to go And as said always replace both

Cheers lads, was thinking it'd be best to do the pair. Am i right in thinking that the mv6 has a stiffer suspension and would that be any advantage to me??

Facelift MV6 rear springs are GM only

KYB have rusted badly for me in the past, now fit boge. Which are lasting longer, but mine are standard in both 2.2 & 3.2 (no lsc or self leveling)

pre face lift mv6 are same as standard springs apparently

cirtainly face lift mv6 with lowered sports chassis are stiffer, but they are also 15mm lower, so you'd need fit matching springs on the front too, or the ride height will be all to cock.
