I call 'dangle berries'. I think it far more likely that people have filled in a vague survey and they've then tweaked the results to suit.

When I was commuting 150 miles a day, I would try and save (company) fuel by staying in a hotel overnight once a week (company paying of course)  ::) ::)

Oh I mean come on! Would you be seen dead in your car with a pair of scarlet silk knickers covering your face & a tartan dog blanket over your shoulders ::)
If you're a Politician, or Public School you've probably got an excuse (of sorts) ;)
As for the rest of the OOF Community, best say nowt! ;D

Funnily enough I know someone who is doing this right now. Ok not a car as such but he drives a van that has been converted to a camper. He has given up his rented house and lives out of the van.

His idea is to save enough money for a deposit on a house rather than saving fuel. He is lucky to be able to use his parents house as an address for the important stuff but I have seen his van parked up on my way into work.

This chap is probably on about £32k a year  :o no partner or kids or any commitments and is in his late 30s. I think he is 39 or 40.

At least the people are doing it to save money on commuting.

In the USA whole families are now sleeping in their motor vehicles due to unemployment and losing their homes, with no welfare system to bail them out. :'( :'(

Sign of things to come in this crazy capitalist World? ::) ::) ::)
