Title: Another dumb question
Post by: dazzle72 on 18 December 2012, 10:34:47
I've seen mention on several posts of cleaning out the breathers. I've got a 2.2 petrol - does this advice apply to mine, and if so where are they? Please remember I'm no mechanic, hence not familiar with what is where on these engines!! Thanks in advance

Just glancing through that briefly, it doesn't seem to mention/show the small breather pipe off the cam cover being cleaned and the end fittings at each end checked for 'clearness'?
You'd definitely want to check that too.

Makes considerable difference on 2.2, the small rubber pipe, that goes from back of throttle body to cam cover used to be only around £0.90 new. Not sure what it is now, but often worth just replacing it, rather than trying to clean  :y
