Nice chap - made me an offer of 2 years Warranty Wise full warranty with consequential loss covered, no excess - on Phaeton for £850 total. Phaeton is 3 years old on Sunday and VW warranty has several major restrictions and is more expensive. A little bit of peace of mind I suppose so I bought it.

I'm always very wary of aftermarket warranties, so let us know how you get on :y

I suspect it will be a case of having bought a warranty nothing will happen but if I did not then something would definitely happen. The Phaeton V6 diesel is a very solid bus and pretty good on standard service parts but if you get into injectors for example then £2k is a possible price to pay.
Warranty Direct wanted £1300 per year and so I hope I have trodden a sensible middle ground on this.

I had some very bad trouble with Warranty Wise regarding a car I sold, cost me in the end. Hence why now all of my cars regardless of age are 'sold as seen'. Only warranty I find you can rely on is the Manufacturers warranty, and even they can be funny at times.
