Not sure I could vote for them, even if they'd had some one to vote for ... there has been in the past though.

My 18yr daughter voted today for the first time ever ... she was quite excited at the prospect. ;)

If all the people who did not vote, voted things might be different, wondering what would happen if everyone who felt it not worth voting voted BNP :)

if the bnp got a sniff of real power and responsibility i suspect that they would crap themselves.i also suspect that they still have an underlying racist agenda, and i couldnt vote for that.

Its not underlying .. its downright blatant !! .. IMHO a vote for them is a waste of a vote

In that case, it excludes you from moaning about anything that any current Government imposes!!!

Bring the Australian system where you are fined if you do not vote!!!!

As I said, if those who do not vote did.
I am not suggesting they should have any real power but I would like to see the governments reaction.
These are local elections so people votw for who will proved the best locally and that is often personalities rather than politics, ny general election would be totaly different anyway. :)

sorry but i dont agree.i could not possibly give validation to any of the parties at present.i go to the polling station and write "none of the above"at the bottom of the ballot paper.

In that case, you would be as well taking the paper home and wiping your rear with it....  It would simply be spoiled and ignored otherwise....

Well on Mr Hells Angels paper, he wants to look after the pensioners, which i totally agree with, if it wasn't for those Brave most of us wouldn't be here today.
My eldest daughter started high school last year. They don't teach about the World Wars and in her RE she has done nothing else but learn about the Muslim Religion. Know I ain't religious but I think that is also wrong...

it doesnt matter to me if it is ignored,i am making my point in my own way and im not being apathetic.if the majority of the electorate, who dont bother going to the polling station did the same as me i think it would cause something of a stir, possibly a crisis even .

I know what you mean about supposed RE lessons. My daughter went to sixth form a few years ago and all we heard about was "this festival and that festival". When i asked her about when they were going to cover other religions such as Christianity and Judism i was told " oh.. we are not doing any of that". So much for a balanced view on the ciricculum!

Nope...
After more than a few years being involved with voting from the 'official' side, spoiled papers are exactly that - spoiled papers....

Put into a pile as they have something other than an 'X' in a box, counted, and thereafter ignored as they are simply a statistic....

wasted effort by yourself to go and make your mark, IMO....

BNP got 2 seats in Nuneaton, is this a first for the BNP or have they seats in other wards?
Title: Re: Voted

well,it has the affect of keeping my conscience clear,i would feel guilty if i couldnt be bothered partaking in any way,and would feel more guilty in validating any of the cretins who wish to govern me. :(...if they brought in the aussie system where i had to vote for someone then i guess i would have some fines to pay.i also consider that system to be almost as wrong as not being allowed to vote at all.

Woops!

We forgot to vote! Ran out of time basically!

We'd already decided that as so few councillors had told us what they stood for and it was nearly impossible to find out, that we'd be asking lots of questions in the polling station - like who on earth was standing, what policies were etc. Probably would've voted for the current mob as they're not doing too bad a job - and others i've no clue on!

i've just checked out birmingham councils voting stats, our ward was won with a 55% vote - next placed was 24%

but the shocking thing is, only 33% voted!

i'm ashamed to be in that two thirds. there's over 12000 people just in our ward who didn't vote!

the national picture could've been very different!

might also have been forgetfulness as there was little publicity on-street or in local papers!

The trouble is, if the 2 main partys continue to tax the fck out of petrol, continue making stupid decisions.

They will get in...

Well  -  If they get some economic polices and find the ability to add and subtract, as well as lose their old skool image and sort immigration ( through policy) I would be tempted too....
