Title: Secondhand Belt Tensioner!
Post by: Humpy on 02 May 2008, 09:39:54
Would you fit a secondhand tensioner? Especially if it looked like this :)

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VAUXHALL-OMEGA-2-5-TD-BELT-TENSIONER_W0QQitemZ250243560969QQihZ015QQcategoryZ10404QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I don't think I would but then that's me. What's the concensus of opinion?

Hardly seems worth effort buying second hand as more chance of problems not being cured..made worse.I like my car too much to waste money like that.

ITS NOT the actual tensioner roller that breaks, the guy is actuslly selling the very thin casting that snaps when people try to change the alternator belt without the correct tools or knowledge, so yep i would buy it today if i could get it sent to spain!!!!
