Anyone got one I can borrow for pennies?

Do you not just buy them at the border, same as the Swiss ones :-\

Yeah you do. But be handy to already have one, hopefully for less too. Long shot I know, but you never know

Don't ask etc etc :y

If they are like the Swiss ones it's not easy to peel off intact (unless you've been clever and stuck it to some clear plastic :-X) ;)

Good point, forgot they are like that. They are prob wise to people "hot swapping" them ::) ;D
Research suggests petrol stations near border sell them, just be nice to already have it :)

If it's like the Swiss border it will take about 5 minutes longer to buy it at the border than if you already have it, maximum. If you pay in cash then the guard will probably have them and stick it straight on for you on the way through so delay of under 2 mins ;)

Understood, will get one near the border then. Reading a few reviews though said Austrian borders often unmanned so nothing to buy.
Thinking more about it, i'll make use out of the stop, get supplies which I need anyway for the week & get some LPG too just before border.

The correct term is vingette, and you can buy it at stop 24 services ashford, or failing that the last services before the border.
